Students Rally for Equality Prior to One Kalamazoo Fest

On Sunday, October 25 at noon, the One Kalamazoo Student Action Team will be leading a rally at the Western Michigan University Peace Center.  The rally will feature remarks from:   

• David Anderson, City Commissioner
• Stephanie Moore, City Commissioner
• Terry Kuseske, Candidate for City Commission
• David Garcia, Executive Director of the Resource Center
• Other community leaders and elected officials  

Following the rally, students will march to The Strutt (773 W Michigan Ave.) to join One Kalamazoo Fest, beginning at 2pm.   

One Kalamazoo Fest, the music festival to support equality, will be held Sunday, October 25th from 2:00pm – 7:00pm at The Strutt, featuring music from Blue Dahlia, Brothers Kalamazov, Allison Downey & John Austin, Funk 211, Members of the Corn Fed Girls, Meagan McNeal & Melodic, Mark Duval, and Dooley Noted.   Supporters will gather to support Ordinance 1856 and educate the community about the importance of voting yes on November 3rd to provide protections for gay and transgender people in Kalamazoo.
